Yes, I second Debtough. You are entitled to legal aid through the Citizen's Advice Bureau (CAB). They can help you find a solicitor that specialises in divorce and at a price you can afford - in many cases for free. On the CAB website, under the law and courts section it says you can get legal aid in civil cases if "you or your children are at risk of domestic violence, or you're going to be made homeless, or you need family mediation (etc.)" all of which apply in your case. There are charities that can help you pay for legal help which you can access through CAB. The national phone line for CAB is 0800 144 8848 for England and 0800 702 2020 for Wales. ( both are free to call). You can find the nearest centre by putting your postcode in online. They're in all major cities and most towns I think. Fingers crossed for you!

I know that you wouldn't want to do this but... I used to work in the hotel trade and if people had booked, but hadn't turned up, without giving any notice (48 hrs was requested for notice) then we were within our rights to charge their cards for the stay. If people have booked - and you have proof of that booking - send them a message saying they must give you a week's notice of cancellation or their card will be charged. This may be a community, but it's also a business and as a business, NWC had rights too! As long as you ha e proof of booking, give notice, and if necessary, charge and send a receipt, they don't have right of dispute 🤷‍♀️

There's a lot going on with my husbands family. I'm OK, but James has had to hotfoot it to Australia. 5 days notice! He's currently in transit. It's been a hard, stressful week and it's going to be hard again when he returns, but I'm more than capable to weather it. I just need to remember to take time out each day to breathe and I know I can be there for him 😊
